Welcome to the World of Travelling Frogs

“You two,” said a Russian friend of ours years ago “are like travelling frogs”. We were in the process of moving from Moscow, where we lived and worked for 4 years, to Budapest. So “travelling”, I suppose, is sort of obvious. “Frogs?” To this day I don’t know… Is it a Russian saying? Is it a simple metaphor for hopping about? Is it a good thing? A bad thing? A compliment? Or an insult? Is it a comment on our personal appearance? Gosh, I hope not. I guess that’s why I never asked, just in case!

So what’s this blog about? It’s stories and images, from travels and about travels. We are Brits, born and brought up in the North of England. In the course of living and working abroad (Germany, Russia, France, Hungary, India, Malaysia), and travelling, (whenever and wherever we can), we’ve had a lot of fun. We’ve been challenged, fascinated, frustrated and delighted. And most of all we’ve learned a lot… especially, what a lot we have to learn.
